Teklad canine diets are complete fixed formula diets designed to provide all essential nutrients required by canines to achieve efficient growth, maintenance and reproduction. Additional dietary supplements are unnecessary. Choose from several diets to best meet your needs.
Teklad global canine diets are an integrated series with protein, fat, and calories levels adjusted to optimize performance at specific life stages. They include poultry by-product meal, an improved source of animal protein over conventional meat and bone meals.
Protein from animal and plant sources provides the proper balance of essential amino acids to maintain efficient functioning of the canine's body throughout its life cycle. High-quality animal fat is an excellent source of concentrated energy and essential fatty acids required to promote and support the general condition of research canines, lactating bitches, and growing puppies. Fat also enhances palatability.
Teklad canine diets are fortified with the proper amounts and balance of vitamins and minerals required to help regulate body systems and fluids, strengthen teeth and bones, and maintain good blood, skin, and coat condition. The diets are extruded to help break down starches. This results in improved digestibility and palatability.

Teklad Canine Diets are designed to be fed to canines under research conditions. Select the feeding method which keeps the animal in the proper body condition. The amount of food the research canine needs depends upon its size, age, breed, temperament, and amount of exercise.
Feed the pregnant female twice a day or ad libitum. Moisten the diet for her first few feedings after delivery. Thereafter, allow ad libitum access to diet and also feed her moistened food once a day.
Puppies will start eating diet (either moistened or dry) when they are about four weeks old. To encourage them to eat, add one cup water to each cup of canine food. Initially, feed the moistened food three times daily. The daily feedings (either dry or moistened) can be reduced to two as the puppies grow. The self-feeding program is ideal for puppies since they like to chew on dry food. They also can eat when they are hungry, assuring proper and adequate nutrition.
