Quantitative Image Analysis

At Inotiv, you’ll benefit from industry-recognized expertise in Image Analysis (IA). Consultation and design-based techniques, coupled with broad histochemical/immunohistochemical capabilities and knowledge of disease, ensure we deliver the best and most efficient quantitative evaluations possible to accelerate your development project.

We offer:

  • Computer assisted, high-throughput capabilities
  • Conducted on brightfield or fluorescent whole slide scanned images 
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied across multiple platforms, including Visiopharm® or inForm® 
  • Visiopharm® image analysis platform allows for analysis of H&E, special stain, IHC, and ISH, including multiplex analysis and endogenous fluorescent analysis
  • High-quality quantitative data for applications, including but not limited to:
    • Muscle fiber cross-sectional area and Feret’s diameter
    • Co-expression and cell classification
    • Biodistribution of proteins or nucleic acids of interest
    • Disease morphology (e.g., fibrosis, lipid, necrosis, apoptosis)
    • Immunologic and oncologic endpoints

Whole Slide Scanning

Our team creates high-resolution whole slide images, which can then be seamlessly analyzed by quantitative image analysis or pathology evaluation.

Our whole slide imaging (WSI) capabilities include:

  • WSI using the Leica Aperio AT2, Akoya PhenoImager HT 2.0, or Slideview VS200
  • Standard or large format slide sizes for H&E, IHC, IF, ISH, and special stains
  • Resolutions of 500 nm/pixel at 20x magnification or 250 nm/pixel at 40x magnification
  • Online image hosting for easy review of study
  • Zoom in and out, pan around the whole slide image just like a microscope using our web-based image management system, Proscia-Concentriq
    • Simple, secure online access from any web browser, on any computer, tablet, or mobile device
  • Digital data transfer
    • Whole slide images can be delivered by internet transfer to your organization’s AWS bucket or other cloud storage systems
  • Images are compatible with most third-party image-analysis software

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Immunofluorescence (IF)

In Situ Hybridization (ISH)

We offer the ISH technique to bring you faster and more accurate results when quantifying your nucleic acid targets across tissues and cell lines.

This includes:

  • Custom-made probes to identify specific gene expression and miRNA, lncRNA, and viral DNA genomes
  • Frequently used as an adjunct to assess IHC validity
