Inotiv scientists are co-authors on a paper in Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology journal, exploring the potential reproductive toxicity of gardenia blue natural food coloring. Natural food colorants are used with increasing frequency, replacing synthetic colorants, however there is not global approval for use of these in food products and no extensive safety assessment has been performed on natural food colorants.
