The technique used to process the sera ensures high complement activity and is in line with the recommendations of the European Health Committee. Guinea pig complement is screened by a standard haemolytic titration assay against a control batch. Endogenous non-specific cytotoxicity in the absence of antibody has been quantified. Complement can be collected from guinea pigs, rabbits and baby rabbits and is available frozen or lyophilised.
